Weekly Update: September 2, 2022

Grade 7/8 Physical Education

We had a great first few days getting to know each other and settling into some of our routines. Here were some of our favourite parts:

• “I loved doing the team-building games and getting to know my classmates!"

• "I think this is going to be such a fun year of gym at school! The activities we have coming up seem awesome."

• "I really liked playing Capture the Flag outside this week, my team worked together and we won!"

Learning Updates

• During this short week we learned about teamwork and why working with a team can be so important.

• We began learning and playing some team-building games, and will continue our learning about this next week!

• We have explored what qualities make a team effective and successful.

• This week we also learned about why it is important to lead an active life and include activities that we enjoy!

Reminders:

• Please remember to have your gym-strip clothing at school to change into for our Phys. Ed classes, otherwise you will need to purchase a shirt and shorts to be active in.

• If you have not already, please bring a second pair of shoes for your child to keep at school to use as Phys. Ed shoes. Having running shoes or sneakers allows the students to fully participate in our activities and helps to keep our classrooms cleaner if we are doing activities outdoors!

• Next week we will be playing different games outside, so please remember to bring and wear the appropriate layers necessary!
